Day of Action Focused on Whole Foods: August 17

Ok everyone here are the details for the Whole Foods Rabbit Protest that Sweet Bunny is coordinating:

We will be at the Wheaton Whole Foods 151 Rice Lake Square Wheaton, IL 60189

Protest starts at 10am and will go to 12:30pm. We will be at the Rice Lake Square entrance off of Butterfield Rd. You will see a large Rice Lake Square Mall sign and a Taco Bell on that corner.

There is plenty of parking in the area, in the Petsmart lot for example.

I will have several posters and flyers for people, you are still welcome to bring one if you have made one!

I will have water for everyone as well.

We will have a couple people filming this protest as well so the more the merrier!!!

I hope to see everyone there!

We encourage everyone to come out and show support. We will have posters and flyers to hand out. Anyone that wants to make their own poster is welcome to do so. If you do please keep it not too graphic and the language appropriate, we do not want to deter people from our cause with foul language and images that will make people turn away. Instead we should try to get people to connect with us and ask them, “What if this was your pet?”

You can also make a poster using images and the template here:

For those that cannot attend or are not comfortable protesting and still want your voices heard, we encourage you to stop in your closest Whole Foods and fill out a Customer Communication card.

You can also email or call your local Whole Foods. When communicating please remember to be polite and courteous. The people that we are communicating with are just the messengers, and we have to remember they are not the ones that are the decision makers.

Anyone looking to attend in other areas please refer to the HRS page for locations and contacts in your region.

There is also a lot of information on the "humane" practices that Whole Foods uses for their meat production.
